Treviso, “The garden of Venice”

09:00 departure by private coach from hotel BHR to Treviso. Walking tour in the historical center of this beautiful town also known as “the Garden of Venice”.
The visit begins from the Church of St. Nicholas, founded by the Dominicans in the thirteenth century; then through the small square of Piazza Pola you reach Piazza Duomo and walk along Via Calmaggiore, the most trendy street of Treviso. Calmaggiore leads us to Piazza dei Signori, where the Civic Tower and the thirteenth-century Palazzo dei Trecento overlook the main town square. You’ll see Monte di Pietà, that was a pawnshop in the middle age, then reach Piazza San Vito, with the churches of Saint Lucia and St. Vito and arrive to Buranelli, the romantic heart of Treviso. Continue to St. Francis, St. Catherine and St. Augustine and crossing the little island of Pescheria we reach Piazza San Leonardo. The itinerary ends with Dante Bridge and Santa Margherita Riviera, home of the University of Treviso and other beautiful buildings bordered and reflected by the clear waters of the Sile river.
11:30 end of the guided tour. Transfer back to your hotel in time for lunch. 12:30 arrival at your hotel. End of tour.
If your going on the afternoon Padova tour you will have a few minutes to relax in your room, then proceed to the reception to regroup with the same guide and depart to Padova at 13.00.
Optional: those of you that don’t have other programs for the afternoon may enjoy their afternoon in Treviso then go back to BHR hotel at own expense. You may take public bus n. 11 from Treviso station to Paese, the stop is in front of the trade center (Centro Commerciale La Castellana) near the hotel (rides are every 30 minutes, last ride at 20.45) or a taxi.
Very important:
Please be ready at the reception near our desk 10 minutes ahead of schedules at the latest. Kindly wait for the tour leader to form the group and call for your party name (that may be the name of the delegate and not yours, even if not participating to the tour). For all tours, we suggest use of sneakers or walking open shoes and light clothing. A hat and sunscreen will be a good idea if the sun is shining. Do not forget to bring some drinking water, backpack and extra cash, since credit cards are not always accepted. Entrance in the museums and in some churches you may want to visit (if not already included in the program) are subject to a dress code, and often require a fee.
